Color captivates me
I engage with the world visually, but it wasn't until I lived in Los Angeles, a city bursting with world-class art, architecture and interior design, that my passion for color bloomed. Initially, I studied color marketing and wardrobe color with Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. Later I earned an AA degree in interior design from Santa Monica College, Santa Monica, CA. And I have a BA degree in English Literature, so I do know how to communicate!
CONSULTING
Soon after I started my interior design business, I realized how much I loved working with color. Time and time again, I saw how color transformed my clients' homes and businesses and positively affected their sense of well-being. Color's transformative power inspired me to specialize in color design.
TEACHING
I taught color theory at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles, CA and "Living with Color" at the UNC Friday Center, Chapel Hill, NC.
SPEAKING
I guest lecture in various venues in North Carolina, including Duke University, Penland School of Crafts and the Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham. I also appeared on the nationally syndicated TV show, The Doctors, in "Color's Influence on the Body."
I'm a member of ISCC. The Inter-Society Color Council is a professional association in the field of color, encompassing the arts, sciences and industry.
